GREETINGS

As one part of my journey has ended, the next is just beginning. Alina and I invite you to follow our adventures in Kazakhstan as we journey toward getting to know each other and slowly build our relationship as Mother...Daughter...Family. Please come back often as I will be blogging about our day to day activities along with lots of pictures!

Cheers,

Good News and then even Better News....

BUT...a little bitchy, venting session first...

Well, I'm here...sort of. The last few months at work have been pure hell. I added up my overtime. I worked an extra 186 hours from Oct. 25 until Feb. 10. ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHT SIX HOURS PEOPLE!!! Somehow, I worked an extra month and almost a half within a 4 month period! I'm still exhausted and don't know if I will ever recover. I can't get over the feeling of being tired no matter how much I sleep or just lounge on the couch. It sucks because I have so much to do. Oh well...life MUST go on!

AND NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS....my agency contacted me a almost two weeks ago and said to get the rest of my paperwork done..ie FBI fingerprints, med form, and more pics of the house (Kaz wants pics of the child's room (no problem), the backyard (no problem), and the BATHROOM!! WTF is that!). I just got my fingerprints back yesterday (after only a week and a half...that's good...it usually takes two weeks) and even though I went to my doctor over a week ago with the med form, they still don't have it filled out. I called today and said that this is the only piece of paper I'm waiting on to complete my adoption paperwork. They couldn't even find the form I hand delivered over a week ago! So, I am heading to the doc office in the morning for an appointment at 8:05 (I AM NOT A MORNING PERSON!!!). The doctor WILL fill the med form out in front of me and hand it to me personally!

Then, ALL PAPERWORK IS D..O..N..E!!!! WAHOOOOO!

AND NOW FOR THE BETTER NEWS....I should get all my paperwork to the agency by the end of the week next week (I still have to get everything notarized and apostilled). My agency also told me in the email that my dossier would be submitted at the end of March/first of April! This is GREAT news because it's an entire month earlier than I expected! The dossier will spend anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months at the Embassy (processing times are all over the place right now!) and then it's off the Kaz! I'm still looking at about 5 months once my dossier gets to the Embassy. So, that means, I will be traveling in or around August to get my pudgy cheek, sweet little Alina! YIKES!! I still have so much to do..to read..to get ready for!! I really don't think any of this will hit me until I get my LOI (my invitation from Kaz to travel to come and get Alina). Right now, I'm just treading and doing what I need to do to get to that point. Once that point is here....I don't know what is going to happen! I hope I can keep my head on straight enough to get done what I need to get done! I know I will because by then I'll be so numb I'll just be going through the motions of getting it done! Excitement will come when I see my little girl for the first time...GOD I CANNOT WAIT FOR THAT DAY!! It's coming sooner than I think or am willing to believe!!
